Located along the quiet landed stretch of Chwee Chian Road, this 3-storey home with a basement underwent a full interior transformation centred around a dark Japandi design language. While the homeowners were drawn to the warmth and calmness of Japandi interiors, they also wanted the spaces to feel moodier, more grounded, and quietly luxurious — resulting in a refined palette of deep timber tones, textured finishes, soft ambient lighting, and clean architectural detailing throughout the home. In contrast to the rich and intimate interiors, the home’s original white-and-black colonial-inspired façade was intentionally retained, creating a striking juxtaposition between exterior and interior. Behind the bright, classic façade lies a dramatically different atmosphere — one that feels serene, contemporary, and deeply cocooning. The interplay between light and dark, heritage and modernity, creates a home that feels both timeless and unexpected, balancing bold character with understated sophistication across all four levels.
